Water Quality Advocacy Program
Confidential, non-regulatory compliance assistance for business and communities is available from the Water Quality Advocate at the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED). The Water Quality Advocate coordinates outreach, information and assistance to communities and businesses.
Pollution Prevention Services
Non-regulatory and confidential assistance with pollution prevention for business and industry, institutions, government agencies with more than 100 employees, Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) Large Quantity Generators, and Toxics Release Inventory (TRI).
Iowa Waste Exchange
Non-regulatory and confidential assistance matching businesses that produce by-products and waste with other groups interested in using or recycling those materials.
Iowa Waste Reduction Center (IWRC)
Confidential, non-regulatory assistance for small business is available from the IWRC to complete on-site review of a business’s operation to identify pollution prevention opportunities. Assistance is also available to assist businesses subject to federal water quality categorical pre-treatment standards, developing pretreatment agreements, monitoring reports, and preparing stormwater permits applications and storm water pollution prevention plans.
